Guidelines for Award of Institutional Membership

I. Eligibility Criteria

1. The institution should be willing to make a contribution of Rs. 10 lakhs towards the NAAS Corpus Fund or for supporting activities of the Academy needing sustained long term support.

2. The Institution should be demonstrably involved or propose to involve itself in activities related to the objectives of the Academy.

The activities of the Institution should be in conformity with the requirements of preserving human, ecological & environmental health.

3. The Institution should have established reputation and clean record.

4. The financial contribution will be on mutually acceptable terms and conditions in line with the objectives of the Academy and in conformity with the prevailing National Agricultural Policy.

II. Mechanism 

CG Institutions/ SAUs/ CAUs who wish to become NAAS Institutional member need not submit the formal proposal and endorsement from the Executive Council as all of them fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Academy for award of NAAS Institutional Membership. However, the proposals of the NGOs, Societies, Private Institutions for NAAS Institutional Membership may first be examined by the
committee and based on the recommendation of the committee, the proposals may be considered for approval by the EC.

III. Entitlements

• will be provided with an opportunity to participate in all scientific activities organized by the Academy.
• can propose activities to be organized by the Academy on mutually agreed areas consistent with Academy’s objectives; such proposals will be considered by the Academy as per its normal procedures.
• will be given a set of publications of the Academy free of cost. Additional sets will be available at 50% discount of the listed price.
• will be provided 20% concession on use of Academy’s Conference facilities for full day.
• can attend the Annual General Meeting as observers but they shall not be entitled to vote.
