The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is launching a national outreach initiative titled “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA)”, scheduled during the Pre-Kharif season from May 29 to June 12, 2025. The objective of this campaign is to bridge the gap between agricultural research and the farmer community by taking knowledge directly to the fields. The campaign will be implemented through about 2000 teams comprising scientists from ICAR institutes and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), along with Field Officers from the State Agriculture Departments. The programme is aimed to reach about 1.0 to 1.5 crore farmers directly. The key objectives of this programme includes:
• Spreading awareness among farmers about improved and modern techniques relevant to Kharif crops.
• Disseminating information on Government policies and schemes;
• Promoting the use of Soil Health Cards based decision about balanced use of fertilizers and other input choices;
• Capturing feedback priorities from farmers on real basis and grassroots innovations/creativity to shape future research priorities.
