Lecturer, Dravya-guna Vigyan, Jhansi, 1955-56; Systematic Botanist, (M.P.), Indore, 1956-57; Minor Forest Products Officer, (H.P.), Dalhousie, 1957-61; Sr. Research Officer (Gr.I) CIMAP, posted as incharge Regional Research Station, Jammu, 1961-65, H/Q Lab, Lucknow, 1965-67, Northern Zonal Centre, Haldwani, Nainital, 1967-70; and Southern Zonal Centre, Bangalore, 1970; Project Co-ordinator, Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, ICAR at IARI and NBPGR, New Delhi, 1970-94; UNIDO Consultant in Bhutan, 1984-85 and Vietnam, 1989 on Medicinal Plants and WHO Consultant to GOI, 1989; Member Advisor, SAARC (Medicinal Plants) Sri Lanka, 1995 and NARLEP, Nigeria, 1998.

Awards/Honours: Dr. Sadgopal Memorial Award, 1981; Fertilizer Corporation of India Award, 1982; Lifetime Achievement Award by Essential Oils Industry, 1999; SIHA Lifetime Achievement Award, 2010.
