Born in Guntur, India on 12 August 1953. Educated at Zilla Parishad High School, Vinukonda, 1964-69; S.S.& N. College, Narasaraopet, 1969; Agricultural College, Bapatla, 1970-74; Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, 1975-80; B.Sc. (Agriculture) 1974; M.Sc. (Agronomy) 1978: Ph.D. (Agronomy) 1981.

Chief Scientist, CSIR - Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Centre, Hyderabad, 2006 to date.
