Awards/Honours: Dr.J.C.Anand gold Medal in 2013; Certificate of Achievement of Honour by the International Agriculture Centre, the Netherlands, National Consultant of FAO of the UN, technical expert for "harmonization of food standards" among SAARC countries; core team member for establishment of Advanced Centre for Agricultural Research and Education at YeZin in Myanmar. USAID Fellowship 1989, FAO Fellowship 1998.

Fellow: Fellow of Horticulture Society of India in the year 2010

Research Areas: Pomegranate as dietary supplement for management of chronic human ailments including cancer, postharvest technology and value addition of horticulture and field crops, Controlled / Modified Atmosphere storage.
