Born in Delhi, India on 3rd August 1963. Educated at Rosary School, Parmanand Colony; and Montfort School, Ashok Vihar, New Delhi 1967-81; Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi, 1981-84, Indian Agricultural Research M.Sc. 1984-86; Ph.D. 1986-91.
Principal Scientist, Division of Food Science and Post-harvest Technology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, 2008 to date.
Scientist, 1992-99, Senior Scientist, 1999-2005, and Principal Scientist, 2005-12, Professor 2013 to 2014, Division of Food Science and Post-harvest Technology, IARI, New Delhi; Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, 2015-16.
Awards/Honours: `IARI Merit Gold Medalist' in 1986 for outstanding academic performance `Dr. J.C. Anand Gold Medal' for significant contributions in the field of PHT of Horticultural crops in 2007. `IARI Merit Gold Medal to four my students; Jawaharlal Nehru Award' of ICAR to two students. Others received Prime-Minister Fellowship and and DuPont `Innovation award'.
