Educated at Kishanpur High School, Samastipur, 1947-51; CM College, Darbhanga, 1951-53; Bihar Agricultural College Sabour, 1956-59; Ranchi Agricultural College Kanke, 1961-63; Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, 1964-68; B.Sc. 1959; M.Sc. 1963; Ph.D. 1968.
