Awards/Honours: IIMA Kasturbhai Lalbhai Chair in Entrepreneurship; IIMA Best Teacher Awards, 1982 and 1985; Association of Indian Management Schools Best Teacher Award, 1996; Far Eastern Economic Review Asian Innovation Gold Award 2000; Padma Shri, 2004; ISCA Science-in-Society Award 2004.
