Awards/Honours: Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to Food Science and Food Technology, IUFOST Mumbai 2018 Congress; ICAR Team Award 2002; Chidambaram Memorial Annual Award 2005; Vasavik Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Value added Fish Products during 2015; SOFTI award for outstanding contribution in the field of Post harvest Technology 2022; Member, Scientific panel on Fish and Fishery products during 2011-2019; Chairman, Scientific panel on Packaging, Food Safety Standards Authority of India 2020 -2023; President of Society of Fisheries Technologists (India), 2010-14.
Nearly Forty six years of research and development experience in Food Processing especially in the field of Fish processing technology, Food packaging technology and Food Science; Published more than 130 papers in peer reviewed International and National Research Journals, 5 books authored/edited, Filed 12 Patents and 7 Technical Bulletins and 15 Popular Articles to popularise Food Science among the masses. Eleven students have obtained their PhD degree under my guidance in various subjects in the area of Fish Processing and Packaging technology. Transferred retort pouch technology to several entrepreneurs in the country.
