Born in Peria Alangulam village of Madurai district Tamil Nadu, India on 1st June 1997. Studied B.Sc (Agri) at TNAU 1994-88, M.Sc (Agri) in Plant Pathology at Annamali university, Chidambaram, 1989-90, Ph. D at TNAU, Coimbatore 1998-2001, Post-Doctoral Fellow, QDPI&F, Brsbane, Australia 2007-08 and MBA (HRM) at MKU, Madurai, TN, 2009-11.

Scientist 1993-99, ICAR-IIHR & ICAR-NRCB, Tiruchirapalli, Scientist Sr. Scale, 1999-2002, Sr. Scientist 2002-2008, and Pr. Scientist since 2009 at ICAR-NRC for Banana, Tiruchirapalli.

Expert in the field of Fusarium wilt of banana by United Nations Organization FAO/IAEA -Vienna, Austria, 2022; Steering committee member- HORTSAP, Govt. of Maharashtra; 2013-16; Steering committee member BAPNET (Banana and plantain network) in Asia Pacific region; PROMUSA working group member for Fusarium wilt and Sigatoka leaf spot diseases of Banana; Recognized as an expert in the Field of Fusarium wilt in Banana by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MASA) of Mozambique, 2019. Zonal councilor of Indian Phytopathological society; 2018-2019.
