Educated at Loreto Convent, Delhi, 1980-82; St Marys Convent, Ajmer 1982-84; Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bhopal1984-86, Bachelors in Chemistry, University of Madras, Chennai 1986-1989; Masters in Organic Chemistry, Hindu College, University of Delhi, Delhi 1989-1991; Ph.D in Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi, 1992-96.

Principal Scientist, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Resaearch Institute (IARI), New Delhifrom 1997 to date.

Lecturer of Chemistry at St. Stephens College, New Delhi, 1996-97; Scientist, 1997-2006; Senior Scientist, 2006-12, Principal Scientistat ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, 2012 to date.

Awards/Honours: Lead Author for Chapter on Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) of the Working Group III (Mitigation)for the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) 2025-2029; Expert consultant for Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) for GHG inventories of agriculture sectorfor India’s National communicationand Biennial transparency reports to UNFCCC; Methodology expert panel member forcarbon credit trading system (CCTS) in Agriculture (MoA);United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) certified expert reviewer ofnational greenhouse gas inventories,biennial transparency reports, and country adaptation reports under the Paris Agreement; Dr RajendraPrasad Puruskar for technical books in Hindi for Agriculture and Allied Sciences 2014 (ICAR); Indo–UK NEWS fellowship, National Environmental Research Council, UK (2017); National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) fellowship, Kansa State University, USA (2013).
