Educated at Sarvajanic Vidyalaya, Amode; Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Maharashtra, 1976-1981 and 1988-92; B.Sc. (Ag.) 1979; M.Sc. (Ag.) 1981; Ph.D. 1992 with course work at Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.
