Dr. Teralandur Krishnaswamy Srinivasa Gopal

Born in Mysore, Karnataka on 2 July 1952. Educated at University of Mysore; FAO International Training Centre, CFTRI, Mysore; University of Trondheim, Norway; and Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala; B.Sc. 1970; M.Sc. 1972; Diploma in Fishing and Fish Technology 1984-85; Ph.D 1994.

Junior Scientific Officer, Defence Food Research Laboratory (DRDO), Mysore, 1975-1976; Scientist (Fish Processing), 1976-1985; Senior Scientist (Fish Processing), 1986-1995; Principal Scientist and Head, Packaging Section, 1998-2008; Principal Scientist and Head, Fish Processing Division, 2009-2010, Director, Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin, 2010-2014 and Emeritus Scientist(KSCSTE) Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin from December 2015 to July 2017. At present working as Professor Chair,Centre of Excellence in Food Processing Technology. Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Panangad, Cochin from August 2017 to date.

Chidambaram Memorial Annual Award 2005;, Vasavik Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Value added Fish Products during 2015;Honorary Visiting Professor of Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai; NORAD Fellowship Award, Norway, 1984-1985; Technical Advisor, Tamil Nadu State Fisheries Department, 2006-07; Board of Director, Lakshadweep Development Corporation Limited, Cochin, 2010 onwards; Chairman of Peer review of 12th Five Year Plan programme on Development of innovative technologies for fresh, processed and preserved food, livestock and biofuels for performance enhancement of combatants, by DFRL, Mysore, 2013; Chairman, Career advancement scheme for promotion of Scientists, CMFRI, Cochin during 2014-17; Chairman, Laboratory Research Committee, DFRL, 2013-2016; Research advisory committee member, Central Institute of Fisheries Education from 2016 onwards; Chairman, Scientific panel on Packaging, Food Safety Standards Authority of India; President of Society of Fisheries Technologists (India), 2010-14. Life time Achievement award for outstanding contribution to Food Science and Food Technology, IUFOST 2018.
