Born in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu on 10th May 1973. Educated at Anna University, B.Tech. 1994, & M.Tech. 1996 and Loughborough University, UK, Ph.D. 2008.

Director, Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), Thanjavur, from 2016 to till Date.

Sabir Oration Award 2017; MS Swaminathan Scientific Tamil Excellence Award 2017; Alkyl Amines Padma Bhushan Prof. B.D. Tilak CHEMCON Distinguished Speaker Award 2016; CFTRI Foundation Day Award 2014 (Best research paper); CFTRI Foundation Day Award 2012 (Individual Award for Scientific Contributions); Prof. Jiwan Singh Sidhu Award 2010; More than 40 Best Poster Award.

Research Areas: Food engineering, Micro and nanoencapsulation of food bioactive compounds and probiotic bacteria, 3D food printing, computational modeling of food processing, engineered human dynamic gastrointestinal system and glycemic index studies
