The National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) held its New Year Get-Together on January 06, 2025, at the NAAS Lecture Hall, New Delhi, bringing together esteemed fellows and associates to celebrate past achievements of 2024 and chart the course for the year ahead. Dr. W. S. Lakra, Secretary, welcomed newly elected office-bearers, including Dr.Baldev Singh Dhillon as Vice President, Prof.Karimbhai M. Maredia as Foreign Secretary, and Executive Council members Dr. A. Gopalakrishnan and Dr. P.S. Minhas, while acknowledging the contributions of outgoing members. Highlights included reflections on 2024’s milestones, such as impactful initiatives like NAAS YUVA (Youth United for Visionary Agriculture), the introduction of the Smt. Kanak Aggarwal NAAS Girl Students Scholarship, and Prof M.S. Swaminathan Foundation Day Lecture, which honored the legacy of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan. Visionary speeches byDr.Himanshu Pathak, President, NAAS and Prof. R. B. Singh and Dr. T. Mohapatra, Past-Presidents, NAAS emphasized agricultural innovation, policy advocacy, and sustainable practices. Discussions also set the NAAS theme for 2025 as “Agri-Food Innovations for Rural Transformations.” The event concluded with the release of the NAAS Yearbook and Planner 2025, underscoring the Academy’s commitment to advancing agriculture and addressing India’s agricultural challenges.
