SMT. KANAK AGGARWAL NAAS GIRLS SCHOLARSHIP 2024-25

Background

Promoting and sustaining gender equality in agriculture education through financial support, among others,  has been a concern at NAAS  and with the proactive sponsorship support from a reputed crop protection company – M/S Crystal Crop Protection Ltd, New Delhi, the Academy is pleased to roll out a monthly scholarship program for the girl students pursuing under graduate courses in agriculture in the agricultural universities and institutions across the country from the ensuing academic session starting from August this year. The scholarship is named as ‘Smt. Kanak Aggarwal NAAS Girls Scholarship’.

The Academy believes that the learned Vice Chancellors and Directors of Deemed Universities will give wide publicity about the scholarship among the aspiring and on roll girl students in their respective universities and also facilitate the Academy with their recommendations of suitable names as per the detail given below:

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship will be open exclusively to meritorious Girl students enrolled in Agricultural Universities. Nominations will be invited from the respective Vice Chancellors of the Agricultural Universities in a prescribed proforma (Enclosed herewith). Students’ eligibility will be assessed based on their merit. The application received in the Academy will be further scrutinized on competitive basis by a committee constituted by its President. The names of the successful candidates shall be communicated to the universities with due approval of the President of the Academy.

 Scholarship Details

Girl Students from first to fourth year B.Sc. course will be covered @ 21 scholarships per batch, i.e. a total of 84 scholarships for a period of four years. The scholarship after 4th year pass out will be rotated back to the new first year batch. For selection criteria of First Year students, a proforma is enclosed.

For selection of students from 2nd to 4th Years, overall yearly Grade points and conduct as furnished by the university/ institutions will be considered.

The scholarship will commence from the upcoming session in July/August, 2024

Amount of the scholarship will be Rs. 3000/=per month per student.

The scholarship amount will be disbursed to the selected students on a quarterly basis directly to their Bank accounts by the NAAS.

Continuation of the Scholarship

• Students who are awarded the scholarship will have to maintain a uniformly good academic record for its continuity. The scholarship may be discontinued in the event of a student failing to obtain a certain OGPA or discontinuation of the study or failing to clear the university examinations.
• The students already receiving scholarship from any other sources, shall not be eligible for this scholarship by NAAS.
